Shinjuku area recommendations? (cafés, food, study spots)

I’ll be coming to Tokyo in March as an exchange student, and the place ill be staying will be located in the Shinjuku area. I’m looking for recommendations around Shinjuku or nearby neighborhoods for good cafés where I can study, nice food spots that are affordable, and places to explore or hang out like bookstores, streets or any hidden gems you personally like.
