I was having a conversation with a friend who is living in Tokyo. I shared that I, with my family, am planning to move to Saitama to Yokohama for ease of access. But friend kept insisting I should move to Tokyo because the benefits for families (especially for children) are better. I’ve done some research through Google and ChatGPT. Although I saw some benefits like addition 5,000 yen per child per month on top of the national allowance. But other than that, I don’t really see a very big benefit, IMO. I have 2 kids (2 and 0 years old).
I also learned that another friend who is currently living Kanagawa and plans to have a baby soon so he and his wife is moving to Tokyo for the “benefits”.
I’d like to hear your opinion about these “benefits” and if they are worth the tradeoffs I am considering.
