Hi everyone
I’m planning a 2-week solo trip to Japan and would love some feedback — especially whether this feels rushed.
Tokyo (Shinjuku) – May 22–26
- 22: Arrive 3PM. Easy evening in Shinjuku.
- 23: Meiji Jingu, Shibuya/Shinjuku wandering, Shibuya Sky, Kabukicho/Golden Gai.
- 24: TeamLab Planets, Tsukiji, Tokyo Tower area. Night out in Shinjuku (curious about Tokyo’s electronic scene).
- 25: Flexible day — Shinjuku, maybe Imperial Palace gardens.
Hiroshima – May 26–27
Memorial Park + evening wander. Staying overnight before Shimanami Kaido.
Shimanami Kaido – May 27–28
- 27: Early train to Onomichi. Cycle to Omishima (e-bike), stopping at shrines/temples (Mt. Shirataki, Oyamazumi Shrine). Overnight near the beach (is swimming possible there in late May?).
- 28: Finish ride to Imabari → train to Osaka.
Osaka – May 28–June 1
- Explore Dotonbori (staying nearby).
- Day trip: Nara.
- Day trip: Kyoto (Kiyomizu-dera, Nishiki, Imperial Gardens — open to less crowded alternatives).
- One relaxed evening (onsen, etc.).
Tokyo (Asakusa) – June 1–4
- Asakusa & Senso-ji, Skytree area.
- Akihabara.
- Yanaka Ginza + Nezu Shrine.
- Final day flexible (shopping, revisit favorite spots). Flight at 8PM.
Additional Info
- Using takkyubin to send luggage Tokyo → Osaka.
- No fixed restaurant plans — prefer spontaneous spots (maybe book 1–2 places).
- Solo traveler.
- Basic Japanese only.
- Looking for a mix of urban + nature.
