Hi, I’m currently a student majoring in Computer Engineering at a four-year university in Korea. I recently received an internship offer from a company in Japan. At the moment, I’ve applied for a Working Holiday visa and I’m waiting for the result, but I’m also worried about what to do if the visa gets rejected.
A friend of mine who is already working in Japan told me that in some cases, the company can help with a “Designated Activities” (Internship) visa, or that the company can provide certain documents stating the necessity of the intern, which the applicant can then use to apply on their own. However, there isn’t much clear information available, so I’m feeling a bit lost.
The company is mid-sized, with around 200 employees, and was recently acquired by a large corporation. If anyone has had a similar experience — especially switching plans after a Working Holiday visa issue or applying for a Designated Activities visa for an internship — I would really appreciate it if you could share your experience or advice.
