I'm wondering if anyone can help offer some info/personal experience.
I have been doing semi-regular freelance work for a small, family-owned/operated LLC. We agreed on a pay structure and a timing schedule for payment to be made. The payments have been consistently late (sometimes weeks late) and have required me to follow up numerous times to have the money deposited to my account. I spoke with other people who also do similar work for them and they have had similar experiences and ensured me that the woman in charge is trustworthy, but said that she is extremely unorganized and scatterbrained since she somewhat suddenly had to step in to take over the company when her father passed away.
The income from this work is helpful at the moment and I do want to give her the benefit of the doubt so I am trying my best to just resolve this between us directly. I do not have a written contract with her but all of our communications regarding payment, pay schedules, lateness of payments, etc. is through Line. In the event that this persists or worse, payment for services rendered is not made, do I have any legal recourse?
