So I received a call and as I didn’t know the number I naturally did not pick up, they left a message saying that they needed to tell me something. Mind you at the time my gas company was calling me and when I returned their call they never answered, so thinking that this was from my gas company I returned their call.
When talking with her she let me know that she can introduce me to someone who has experience with getting a job for foreigners (I’m going to graduate this March from a vocational school in Japan and I’m still looking for employment) so I got interested and told her that I wouldn’t mind having a conversation with said person.
Today I had a meeting online with them and after talking to him the first thing he told me was to give up on finding a company to work for as a graphic designer because it will be extremely difficult for me not because I’m a foreigner but because I’m studying in a vocational school and it’s really difficult even for Japanese to find any🙄. Like I know, I’ve gotten 2 interviews and haven’t been accepted yet. But that doesn’t mean I’ll give up on that yet.
At this point I was intrigued about what this people ACTUALLY wanted to tell me and followed whatever crap he was talking about. He send me a file of a work post from a company that’s looking for people who speak English and other languages fluently so that they can help others find a job (recruitment work literally). So he told me to send my resume and a one minute video introducing myself in Japanese because my Japanese is sooooo great.
My questions is has anyone ever gone through this here in Japan?
And if you did is this actually legit?
Should I give it a try using it as a plan B until I actually find a company I can work for?
Or
Should I just continue with my counselors at school and work with them to help me continue with my “looking for employment” visa and apply to companies so that I can actually work as a graphic designer?
