Hey everyone,
I’m a tourist coming to Japan and I really want to attend an event at Korakuen Hall, but the one I’m looking at seems to be sold out online.
I’ve seen resale tickets, but they’re around 25,000 yen, and most of them seem to be handled by mail + convenience store pickup. I’m hesitant to fully commit to it since:
• I don’t have a Japanese phone number yet
• I don’t have my hotel booked
• and the whole resale process feels a bit risky as a tourist
I’m arriving in Tokyo on Thursday, Feb 26. I did consider going to the Thursday event, but I’m worried I might be short on time that day depending on arrival, jet lag, etc.
For context, I already bought a ticket for NEW JAPAN CUP 2026 at Korakuen Hall, mainly to be safe and not miss the chance to experience an event at this venue at all. Even that was a bit confusing though, especially regarding printed tickets / how you actually need to present them.
So I wanted to ask people who know Korakuen Hall:
• Is it worth lining up during the day to see if tickets are available at the door FOR THIS SPECIFIC EVENT?
• Do day-of tickets ever happen, or is it usually a lost cause?
• In my situation, would you risk waiting instead of committing to resale?
Any insight or personal experiences would really help. Thanks!

The New Japan website says no tickets will be sold on the day as it’s sold out.

That show is completely sold out, there will be no tickets on sale day-of: https://sp.njpw.jp/tournament/611094 (underneath the red text towards the top of the page)
Use BuySumoTickets, they can send the tickets to your hotel in Japan if you want. I just watched the Road to the New Beginning on the 2nd February at Korakuen Hall.
