Is Interac a good option for someone who doesn’t care about the salary?

Good evening everyone,

I applied to JET and got the interview (which went well) and I’m waiting for the results. I decided to hedge my bets by applying to Interac as well. I made it through the phone screening just fine and expect to be able to get the job easily based on what I’ve heard about their hiring standards.

I’ve heard some varied opinions about Interac and similar companies, mostly as it relates to pay. As much as I would love to make JET money, I’ll be coming to Japan with at least 5x the recommended amount of savings, no debt, and considerable yearly post-tax contributions from my parents.

Given this context, will it make a difference in my quality of life if I work for Interac? Are there negatives to Interac besides the pay that I wouldn’t experience with the JET Program?
