Out at a local event today with some friends. Our kids were holding hands and singing an Anpanman song when a random guys starts walking along with them and filming them on his phone. It’s silly, but I’m still annoyed thinking about it. Our children aren’t a tourist attraction! Thankfully he deleted it when I asked, but I wish I had asked him to remove it from his ”recently deleted” folder as well. Now I have to wonder if videos of my daughter are being shared online as somebody’s Japan travel content. Ugh.
I also feel bad because the other parents couldn’t confidently speak English, so if I hadn’t been there then nobody would have been able to speak out. I wonder how often this is happening to other kids and I wish people would have more awareness about how filming random strangers‘ children is not ok.
