Is anyone here a nursery teacher or used to be one?
I’m starting my job next month as a nursery teacher. I have no experience in dealing with kids. They hired me as an English teacher. I have no experience in teaching as well, but I used to be a care worker.
It seems like my work experience didn’t matter much. They acknowledged my Japanese speaking skills and background more. I live in a countryside and they told me it’s their first time hiring a foreigner (I’m on spouse visa). They did explain to me what kind of job would I be doing, and toured me around the school. It doesn’t really focus much on teaching English (or any classes at all) but rather a lot of play and interaction, I guess my job is to teach the English through interaction.
Any tips for teaching and dealing with children?
