Okinawa in Rainy season. May Vs June

Hi all my wife and I are going to Japan for our honeymoon between May 10th and June 4th.

we have lots of plans but would love to spend 5-7 days in Okinawa for beaches and diving/snorkeling.

I realise it's rainy season but there are conflicting reports on how bad rainy season is, all day rain and overcast Vs short heavy bursts and sun.

We could go at the start of our trip at the start of rainy season May 10th – 16th or at the end of our trip 28th May – 3rd June

Are we more likely to get better weather either of these times than the other or is Okinawa best avoided during the unpredictability of rainy season?
