Sorry in advance for any grammatical errors, silly questions and or remarks.
I'm a 18 year old student focusing on it in Greece and I've planned a trip with my girlfriend for 2028 to visit japan for possibly 3 weeks. The idea of moving to japan for permanent stay has been on my mind the past few months, since my girlfriend and I started having more serious thoughts about moving away from greece, mainly due to economical factors (ofcourse the idea of moving is far into the future, things could possibly change, whether that be my relationship itself or even second thoughts about the entire plan). So I found this reddit in my search for answers to the questions I will now present:
- Will we, as immigrants from a European country, face difficulties due to racism? I've generally heard that Japan is more on the conservative side.
- Since I'm going to study IT, how easy is it to find a job as a foreigner in programming? Is remote work viable, either internally or for a foreign country (as in working for the US but from Japan)?
- How many difficulties and or obstacles are there when deciding to become a home owner in Japan?
- (This may sound very off topic) What are piracy laws in Japan like? I am from a country that piracy is almost taken for granted, though there are laws, no one ever actually gets fined for it.
Also, I would like to ask questions about my 3 week trip but I don't know if this is the correct community to ask, since from my understanding is solely revolved around immigration.
Thank you!
