Hey all, I’ll be incorporating a KK here in the near future. I have some questions about starting and running a business in Japan.

I know that Japan makes it pretty difficult to fire people. I am starting a business in a high-risk field, and while I genuinely hope I can vet people in the interview process properly, I worry about hiring someone who isn’t a fit for the company. I know many places have employees go through a 6 month trial phase. Is that the best thing to do to keep my ability to let people go if needed? Any other advice?

I’ll be funding this business entirely on my own to start. Are there any banks that you’d recommend that are easy to work with? The money will be wired from my American accounts, if that makes any difference.

This question might not be a fit for this sub, but what resources do you use to post jobs and find people? Is it worth working with recruiting agencies?

I’ve seen a lot of recommendations online for Freee. The business will be small at first, so I think I would be able to manage using Freee’s software myself. Anyone not like Freee? Or have words of warning regarding it?
