We're staying in the Godzilla hotel and woke up way too early and can't go back to sleep so I was looking for breakfast recommendations!

Keio Plaza Hotel. Amazing. Or the 7-11 by the park near the Hyatt.
There’s a dennys but I didn’t like it. Breakfast in Japan can be tough, for me it’s either hotel breakfast, McDonald’s or a bakery. Usually i just wait till a ramen shop opens at 11:00
Beef bowl places like sukiya/yoshinoya are always open. Go try that, if you haven’t yet. Cheap and filling.
Konbini egg salad sandwich.
Udon Oniyanma. Really good and it was quick. Lotta salarymen there because it’s one of the few restaurants open early. Opens at like 7am while most places open by 10-11
Research the chains, there’s lots near you. We stayed at the gracery too and had a blast trying the various chains for breakfast. They can be found minutes from your hotel. I don’t have my notes but places like matsoya etc. fun and great value.
There’s a curry place open 24H under hotel apa right across the street from you. The naan is everything after a night at golden gai
Shinpachi Shokudo Shinjuku
The soufflé pancakes at Musashino Mori Diner and Bam Bi Coffee were delicious. The latter opens later though.
Ichiran at 5am – minimal line! I stayed in that area and learned katsu curry is apparently breakfast food based on opening time of restaurant.
Royal Host. The one near Higashi-Shinjuku station opens at 6:30, which is just under 1km from you.
For me, family restaurants are great in the morning because of the drink bar, which has lots of coffee options.
Japanese Breakfast Hot Dog, don’t question it.. just get the mustard.
Famichicki 😅
I haven’t been to this particular branch (which is closer to Gracery), but we like it a lot.

Komeda’s originally from Nagoya, which has a very strong morning cafe culture, so they open early.
Pancakes or waffles at the 7/11’s mate

7/11 or their competitor. Great service, selection. Stopped at the one near our hotel early every morning (630-7am) before we wandered the neighborhoods.
There a Soba Noodle Place in Piss Alley that’s open 24 hours. Its really good.
We always do matsuya or yoshinoya. Cheap, good, and many are open 24 hrs.
