  1. Not a new thing, but I’d like to praise my boss again for being so chill and supportive while I’ve been dealing with a medical issue. He’s really great and I’m super thankful 🥰

  2. Went to immigration yesterday to renew my visa. In and out in 20 minutes! I guess Thursdays at noon are the best time to go

  3. Went to an endoscopy clinic for the first time for a pre-colonoscopy consultation. Was nervous since you never know how doctors are, but I did my research and memorized the important words and everything went great. Doctor was super nice and spoke non-patronizing simple Japanese. Compared to other experiences it made me feel like I have a grasp on my life here.

Also signed for a new job so that’s cool.

  4. my partner and i will have our two year anniversary this weekend. it’s not an exaggeration to say they’ve changed my life for the better in almost every way.

  5. Got approved for an apartment. They allow foreigners AND cats. Time to go find me a grad school study buddy at the shelter.

  6. After much reading, and talking to the guy at Edion, I went for the indoor antenna for the tv.  And it works!  Edion guy said there’d be no chance.

We don’t watch tv much so paying for ひかり every month to watch free-to-air, or getting a big-arse antenna on the roof didn’t seem very appealing.  Gambled on the indoor and am quite happy I did.

And it’s container day at work so boss us treating us Mos for lunch.  The small things matter.  Happy to be working here.

  7. Local wine + mini grocery store only sold soft cheeses, despite having a huge section of Italian pastas and sauces, and I no longer work near a Hanamasa to get our regular parm for carbonara. I asked if they ever sold hard cheeses, and the manager said she’d check and offered to call me.

No phone call so far, but I stopped by last night and got a whole new block of parmigiano reggiano from the newest addition to their cheese selection 🙂

  8. My postcard for my spouse visa renewal came in today, surprisingly fast as I submitted 2 weeks ago. I wasn’t in doubt that it’d get renewed but it’s still nice to have peace of mind.
