I’m currently living in Machida, Tokyo. Last week, I ran into a major problem with my PC — it suddenly got stuck on the boot logo screen, and I can’t even access the BIOS to reset it.
When I checked the motherboard, the VGA red light indicator was on (RAM, Boot, and CPU indicators are fine — only VGA has an issue). I’ve already tried clearing the CMOS, removing and resetting the CMOS battery, switching PCIe slots, and changing the GPU power cables, but nothing worked.
I read a thread suggesting removing the GPU and using the onboard HDMI port, but unfortunately I’m using a Ryzen 7 2700X, not an APU, so it doesn’t have integrated graphics and won’t output any display.
At this point, this feels like my last option before deciding whether to buy a new motherboard or upgrade my processor. Is there anyone here in Tokyo or Kanagawa who has a Ryzen APU that I could borrow for just 5 minutes (just to reset the BIOS 😭)? I can come to your place if it’s nearby and bring my CPU with me.
Best regards
