Advice needed for freelancing under the international services/humanities visa.

I recently left my full-time employment and I am holding on to a valid engineer/ international services/ humanities visa.

I have since notified immigration of my resignation, and I am aware that I have 3 months to look for a job. Past that, I need to have proof that I am engaging in job search activities or have been engaging in work related to my field of expertise (if audited or asked).

I am currently exploring options to pursue work as a freelancer (I have some consistent projects already lined up) instead of going back to being a full-time employee. I called immigration up and freelance work under my field of expertise is allowed.

I'd appreciate it if anyone with experience taking on short term project-basis contracts as a freelancer could advise on:

  1. Is there anything I should be aware of when I do this? I understand I need to declare my own taxes and re-enroll under NHI, is there anything else?

  2. Will I run into any problems when I eventually want to renew my visa? Since there will be no record of a new employer after I resign, should I keep a record of all my project contracts and make sure to sign agreements with all companies that engage me on a freelance basis?

If anyone has experience with this, I'd appreciate the advice! Thank you.
