Is it just me, or would a Takaichi/Koizumi political romance novel be a total bestseller?

I’ve been deep-diving into Japanese politics since the 2026 elections, and I can't shake this vibe. If someone wrote an "Enemies to Lovers" slow-burn novel about Sanae Takaichi and Shinjiro Koizumi, I’d pull an all-nighter reading it.

The "Enemy" Arc: They were literally fighting for the same throne just months ago. Then she wins and, in a total boss move, appoints him as her Defense Minister. That "keep your rivals in the same room" energy is peak drama.
A slow-burn political novel about these two would be an absolute bestseller.
I see the chemistry)))

  1. It could be, but I do not want more people to idolize them so it is ok to leave it in the mind.

  2. I’d love it as long as the genre is literary fiction for adults. Not futanari manga or whatever it is the young people are into nowadays.

  3. Seems doable but lacks spice. No rivals, can throw noda in for some more fun, but it would be hard to sell it with just 2 characters. Maybe Abe is the “peak male performace” sanae san would demand from our boi koizumi, you can have noda in training arc…. providing skills so that koizumi can do what he couldn’t, aka defeat sanae.
