I look at Umino and with his appeal, aura and everything. I often am reminded of Triple H with Umino. What I mean by that is that Triple H in WWE was never "The Guy" for WWE, he was the guy who got to work "The Guy". Umino is in that same category, and for me honestly Umino feels the same way. His overall presentation from before felt like a combination of Hiroshi Tanahashi meets Okada. I get it NJPW tried with him, but he wasn't ready for that moment.
When I look at his pairing with Yuya Uemura, it's more of a Umino needs Yuya more than Yuya needs Umino. It reminds once again of Triple H teaming with Steve Austin. Austin didn't need Triple H, Triple H needed Austin. With Shita Umino, I am not sure when a majority of NJPW fans will like him again I know he has his fans, but I'm not a fan of his overall presentation and just felt it was too much too soon but NJPW is at fault as well for not really having the young guys of the company ready to take over because they kept their eggs in the Okada basket for far too long.
Pecking order wise it is Tsuji, Yuya, Oiwa, Umino/Ren Narita in my opinion. I am curious on everyone else's thoughts
