For background, I’m on the Business Manager status and I might end up changing it to the Working Holiday status.
I want to try and keep my residence continuous for permanent residency, so I can’t just let my current status expire if I want to do that.
I contacted immigration and they said I can’t change my status to Working Holiday – I have to go to the embassy in my home country to get a visa vignette (i.e the visa sticker that goes in your passport).
I read from somewhere on reddit that if my zairyu card is still current and I have a visa vignette, I can go to immigration and get my status changed that way.
Is this true? Has anyone ever done this?
