Just got the card in the mail because it wouldn’t let me add my banking information. when I tried to activate the card it keeps telling me my UserID doesn’t match my account name.
Ive tried changing it to every version of my name and it still says it isn’t a match. From the one on the paperwork the card came with to my bank card,katakana to romaji.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Isn’t your username your email address for your Rakuten account? I registered my bank account as part of the application before I ever got the card

It could be an issue of the width size of the text
I’m a Japanese person who understands English. A foreign friend of mine had the same issue before and managed to resolve it.
A common error in cases like this is related to **full-width vs. half-width characters**, even though the name itself hasn’t changed.
When entering your name in katakana, make sure you are using **full-width katakana (全角カタカナ)**.
My friend fixed the error by switching to full-width characters.
