[Itinerary Check] 14 Days Boys’ Trip (April 21-May 5) – Sakura in Aomori, Snow Corridor, & Golden Week in Tokyo. Need advice!

Hey everyone! My friend and I (both 24M) are heading to Japan this April/May. We’ve locked in our main flights and a few big tickets (Alpine Route, Biovertex), but we need some help filling in the gaps and making sure our logistics make sense, especially since we hit Golden Week at the end.

The Plan:

• Apr 21-22: Mumbai -> Narita (Land 7:30 AM). Day 1 in Tokyo for "Big Item" shopping (Cameras, Watches, Sneakers). 7:30 PM flight to Aomori.

• Apr 23: Hirosaki Sakura Festival (Full day/night).

• Apr 24: Aomori City exploration. (Need suggestions for a chill but cool day here!)

• Apr 25: Fly to Osaka. Dotonbori food crawl.

• Apr 26-28: Osaka/Kyoto. Have the 2-day Osaka Amazing Pass. Biovertex Kyoto booked for April 27. (Need ideas for the "Best of" Kyoto for 2 guys who aren't into just temples).

• Apr 29: Toyama. Coastal cycle ride (relax day).

• Apr 30: Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route (Snow Corridor) -> Nagano -> Tokyo. (Tickets booked).

• May 1-4: Tokyo (Golden Week). May 4 is Fuji-Q. (Need a plan for May 1-3: thinking TeamLab Planets, more shopping, and unique city spots).

• May 5: Depart NRT.

Specific Questions:

  1. Is doing "Big Shopping" on Day 1 in Tokyo too risky with a 7:30 PM flight to Aomori? Best area to hit for all 3 (Camera/Watch/Sneaker) in one go?

  2. What are the "must-eats" in Aomori besides apples?

  3. With the Osaka Amazing Pass, what are the best high-energy/view spots?

  4. For Tokyo (May 1-3), how do we best avoid the Golden Week madness while still seeing the "cool" stuff?

Any tips on the route or things we missed would be huge. Thanks!

Specific Suggestions for Your "Gap" Days

April 22: Tokyo Quick Shopping (Before Aomori)

• Location: Head straight to Shinjuku. It’s the most efficient for your list.

• Cameras: Map Camera (World-class used/new stock) or Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba (if you prefer Akihabara).

• Watches: JackRoad/BettyRoad in Nakano Broadway (short trip from Shinjuku) for luxury/vintage, or Bic Camera for Seiko/Citizen.

• Sneakers: Sneakersnstuff (SNS) or the various Atmos stores in Shinjuku/Harajuku.

April 24: Aomori City Exploration

• Morning: Aomori Gyosai Center (Nokkedon). Buy tickets and walk around stalls to build your own seafood bowl.

• Afternoon: Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse. See the massive, glowing paper floats from the famous festival. Then walk to A-Factory next door for apple cider tasting.

• Unique Spot: Aomori Museum of Art. The architecture is stunning, and it houses the "Aomori Dog" statue—perfect for photography.

April 26-28: Osaka & Kyoto Suggestions

• Osaka (Amazing Pass): * Umeda Sky Building: Go for the "Floating Garden" sunset view.

• Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel: Great views of the harbor.

• Tombori River Cruise: Touristy but fun at night with the lights.

• Kyoto (Beyond Temples): * Gion/Pontocho at night: Best for "old Japan" photography.

• Arashiyama Monkey Park: A bit of a hike, but great views and fun interaction.

• Kyoto Railway Museum: Surprisingly cool for a boys' trip if you like machinery.

May 1-3: Tokyo (Golden Week Survival)

• May 1 (TeamLab): Do TeamLab Planets in Toyosu (since you have tickets/plans). Afterward, head to Odaiba to see the life-size Unicorn Gundam.

• May 2 (Street Culture): Harajuku (Cat Street) for streetwear and Shibuya Sky (book the sunset slot 4 weeks in advance!) for the best view in the city.

• May 3 (Deep Shopping): Nakano Broadway. If you missed watches on Day 1, this is the spot. It's also an "otaku" paradise but less chaotic than Akihabara during holidays.

• Golden Week Tip: Since May 4 is Fuji-Q, expect massive lines. If you haven't yet, look into buying "Priority Tickets" (Fast Passes) for the big 4 coasters (Fujiyama, Eejanaika, etc.) as soon as you enter the park.

Thanks for the help in advance 😇 ( sorry for the long post)
