Hey folks! I am planning a honeymoon trip to Miyakojima and Ishigaki 1 week each(2 week total) for late september/early october this year. I’ve read that it is strongly adviseable to rent a car because the public transport is not particularly reliable. Turns out my country cannot issue an IDP that works in Japan – it should state that we have ratified the 1949 Geneva convention but we haven’t. I saw that for some countries you could have a translation from JAF but that is not the case for mine(Bulgaria). So I have to find another way. Taxis can be expensive, I’ve read about people renting e-bikes and going around the islands. Have some of you tried it? And did it work out fine? Though for Ishigaki we would probably mix e-bike with public transport if we decide to go after all. Thanks in advace
