I’m hoping to do the Magome->Tsumago and the Torii Pass in a single day and just wanting to make sure it’s logistically possible.
First train from Nagoya to Nakatsugawa is 7am-7:48am, then I don’t see a train from there to the Magome start point until 10am but I assume there are buses earlier than that?
Assuming I can start around 8:30, it’s only 8km so I imagine I’ll be finished up by 10:30 at the latest, and have time for a quick lunch. I’d then want to take a train from Tsumago to Yabuhara, which I think gets me to Yabuhara around 1:15pm?
This trail is only 7km but a bit more mountainous from what I understand, so still expecting around 2 hours but let’s pretend it will be 3 hours and I’ll finish at Nairi around 4:30pm.
I’d be sleeping in Shiojiri, and it looks like the latest train leaves Nairi at 6:26pm, so theoretically this should all be possible. I’ve never seen it mentioned by anyone online so just wanting to double check here and make sure there’s nothing I’m forgetting to think about.
This would be end of October if that changes anything. Also, the length of the walk doesn’t bother me, I’ve done many more kilometres in a day before.
