Do speeding or parking tickets affect visa renewal in Japan?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently living in Japan on an engineering visa that will expire in December 2027. Over the last couple of years, I received one speeding ticket and one yellow parking ticket from the police. I have already paid both of them.

I’m wondering:

1. Do these count as criminal records in Japan?
2. Do I need to mention them when reapplying for my visa?
3. Could they affect my visa renewal in any way?

If anyone has gone through a similar situation or knows how this works, I’d really appreciate your advice.
