I’d like some suggestions for choosing a bank, if that would be okay.

I moved to Nagoya last week for work and will open a bank account Friday. I'm an avid weight trainer and would like to join JoyFit24, which requires a Japanese credit card. But I've heard that credit cards are not usually given to foreigners. If you were in my shoes, what would you do? Thanks in advance for the kind advice.
