Could someone enlighten me regarding this matter? First of all, I am a foreigner living in Japan. I have a Japanese-passing name and I am thinking about registering the Kanji that a friend came up for my name because it means a lot to me, and it would also be cool if I could get a hanko and be able to use it in documents.
I’ve seen that one of the requirements is proof of consistent usage of that “name”. Name is quoted here because I wanted to clarify which one they mean by that. Consistent usage of my actual alphabet name, or usage of the Kanji? Thanks in advance!
