How useful is english language when it come to job hunting?

Hi everyone
I'm a current student studying at Waseda university's SILS program. I have JLPT N1 and English is my native language because I grew up overseas.

I want to work at a foreign fir but my current gpa is not very good. I've been told by peers and heard from some professors that my English ability and university name value will make up for my low gpa to get a decent job but I'm pretty worried.

How much is these "advantages" that people say I have actually valued when job hunting at both domestic and foreign firms in Tokyo?
