Japanese counters are so confusing 😅 How do you learn them?

Hi, I’m Japanese, and I’ve been wondering about this.

Japanese has so many different counters like

  • 一人 (one person)
  • 一本 (one long object)
  • 一枚 (one flat object)

Even for us, it can feel like a lot sometimes.

I’m curious—how do you learn and remember them?

Do you memorize them, or just get used to them over time?

Also, which counters do you find the most confusing?
