it's been only 5 days since I have been in Japan as a student, I am living in a relative's place temporarily until I get a house. This is also why I am not opening a bank account yet since I don't have a permanent address. But without a bank, I see some of the bigger sim networks cannot be purchased.
Would GTN especially its EAZY plan (has MNP transfer) be a good option for a short time sim for students? They don't need bank account. I will change once I get a more permanent address. Maybe it will take around 10 to 15 days more to do so.
Thanks in advance.

If you have a resident card you can get Rakuten Saikyo plan for a good permanent solution. You dont need a jp bank acc for that, just pay using your country’s credit card.
When I was an exchange student for a year I used GTN, and I had no troubles with them.
Since I moved here for long term, I’ve been using UQ.
