I am a foreign student studying and living in Japan. I am currently living on school campus. Throughout the apartment application process, they kept providing me with the NHK registration form, I have multiple of them but I never filled them in or submit them.
Literally on the front page of the form, NHK stated that I am legally required to pay for the NHK fee, as since I am currently a student, they are offering a student price in which I pay a discounted fee till I graduate.
I am wondering if I am *legally* obligated to pay for the service despite me not even watching NHK? And is the form a trap? To kinda trap me into some kind of contract to make me pay for NHK for life?
