Hi, I am planning to visit Japan for 7-10 days after my Vietnam and Korea trip. I know it is unbearably hot during this time and would love some recommendations on where I should go or visit. I'm okay with going to the same places.
I'm in my early 30s, will be traveling solo, working 2am-10am Japan time. I've already been to Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Uji, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Fuji. I'm going again Mid April (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Sapporo, Furano, Otaru, Lake Toya, and Otaru).

I wouldn’t call it unbearable. It’s way more pleasant than winter for sure.
Following to steal recommendations 👀
If you think you might enjoy summer festivals, then Tohoku has some really excellent ones (although this late in the calendar you’ll likely need to plan on sleeping in Morioka and commuting to Hirosaki/Aomori/Akita each day). If the heat, crowding, overall need to be “waiting around for things to happen” seem unbearable then obviously avoid those areas during the festival days.
If you’re trying to avoid the worst of the heat, I’d honestly lean toward Hokkaido again, Tohoku, or the mountain areas in Nagano rather than the usual big city route.
Since you’ve already done a lot of the classic places, this feels like a good trip to slow down a bit and go somewhere that’s more about scenery, food, and atmosphere. Hokkaido is the obvious answer if you’re okay repeating places, but I’d also look at places like Aomori, Morioka, Sendai as a base for day trips, or somewhere like Karuizawa / Matsumoto / Kamikochi if you want cooler weather and a different pace.
Also, with your work hours being 2am–10am Japan time, I probably wouldn’t overdo constant hotel changes. I’d pick 2 or 3 bases max and make it an easier trip. That kind of schedule can get rough fast, especially if you’re also dealing with heat and trying to sightsee solo.
If it were me, I’d skip Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto for this one unless there’s something specific pulling you back. You’ve already seen a lot there, and they’re probably the least fun places to be if you’re tired and getting cooked by the weather.
In Summer to Izu and hit some nice beaches along the East coast. It was great.
If you want it a bit cooler, get more up north in Tohoku or Hokkaido.
What visa will you be coming on that allows for work? Because a tourist visa is not one of them, even for remote work.
