Hey everyone! My wife and I are visiting Akita City for the first time from this May (May 2–6) to visit a family friend. We’ll have our 19 month-old toddler with us.
Since we don’t know the area well, we’d love some advice on low-stress things to do with a little one.
Our wishlist:
Parks: Any good playgrounds or green spaces where a toddler can burn off energy? We’ve heard of Senshu Park, but are there others?
Onsen: We’d love to try an onsen, but only if they have kashikiri (private family rentals) so we can stay together. Any recommendations within a short drive of the city?
Food: Akita is famous for its food—are there specific spots that are stroller-friendly or have high chairs?
Crowds: Since it’s Golden Week, are there any places we should definitely avoid with a toddler because of the madness?
Thank you in advance!
