We'll be in Kyoto next week and I'm curious if anyone knows what time shops around Gion open generally speaking? We plan on being in the Shinbashi-dori, Hanamikoji-dori areas for shopping, and I'm sure it'll be packed with tourists there. Any tips or recos on what time would be best to visit these areas? I heard the earlier the better, especially in Gion, but if nothing's open then what's the point..
