So I've suspected that I've been ADHD for a while now and I live in the 北陸area. I'm scheduled to see A psychiatrist in my town this weekend. And I know that ADHD is seen a little differently here than in other countries. I've done some research, but a lot of my sources say that the doctor may need to get a written testimony from my parents to verify how I was growing up? The problem with that is that I don't have the best relationship with the one parent who would be able to give a concise answer about my childhood behavior. ( one parent was noticeably absent for the majority of my childhood) so that's a no go. Would I still be able to get a diagnosis if I don't have that parent testimony? If you were diagnosed here, what was that process like for you? Did you have to go to Tokyo, Osaka, etc? TIA.
