Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some honest guidance about my chances of getting a work visa in Japan.
My background:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Post Diploma (Advanced Diploma – NSQF Level 6, Tool Design & CAD/CAM)
- 3+ years experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Experience in CAD tools: AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, NX
- Knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing, jigs & fixtures, molds, etc.
- Completed a 10-month Hybrid EV program
- JLPT N3 certificate
My situation:
I don’t have a bachelor’s degree, and I also don’t have 10 years of experience.
My questions:
- Is it possible to get an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa with my profile?
- Can Diploma + Advanced Diploma (NSQF Level 6) + experience be considered equivalent to a degree?
- Has anyone here successfully gotten a visa in Japan with a similar background?
- Would going to a Japanese 専門学校 (Senmon school) be a better path?
I’m mainly targeting Mechanical Design Engineer roles and looking for companies that offer visa sponsorship.
Any real experiences, advice, or suggestions would really help 🙏
Thank you!
