I am torn between staying in my current role or jump ship. I was about to resign when my current employer gave me a counteroffer.
CURRENT
– annual: 6.5M
– role: Project Manager
– hybrid. Very flexible. I finish my job in 4-6hrs. No micro managing.
– i can do whatever I want. If I want to explore an area in my career, they will let me do it.
– everybody is bilingual
– startup in japan (15people). So no employee handbook, etc. Mid-size global company that is growing fast.
– tokyo

– annual: 8M (includes 10hrs OT per month)
– role: Associate specialist (entry mgmt role. planning to move me to specialist if I am good)
– osaka. I will have to move.
– full on-site
– big MNC. Everybody knows.
I have a really good title and ownership in my current employer. Hourly-wise, I am definitely earning more in my current employer.
But, i am so tempted to jump ship mainly because of the brandname.
Which would you go for if you're in my shoes?
I am planning to leave Japan in 3-5yrs and move to EU. Which will give me more edge, title+skills or brand+skills?
