I'm leaving Japan in <2 weeks and planning to cancel my Softbank plan, but I've seen some older stuff about the process being expensive and time-consuming.
Since I'm leaving the country that's probably a quick way to cut through any attempts from staff to get me not to cancel, but I'm not sure if they still have crazy fees for the process.
Has anyone cancelled with SoftBank recently? Around how much should I plan to be billed for leaving? Any customer retention jutsu's I can prepare for?
Also, if I'm going to be out of Japan for 1~2 years but still may come back, is it worth it to request my MNP and sign up with a cheaper service then?
Thanks!
