  1. Im between jobs atm (my new job starts next month) so wanted to go sign up for hoken and nenkin since you have to do that, supposedly within 14 days of leaving a job.

However, my last company still hasnt gotten me the insurance-ending-doc ( 健康保険資格喪失証明書 ) yet, which I asked for earlier this week. I asked the local city office about it and they said yea basically that document is definitely needed, however if i didnt have it by the 14-days-after-leaving-job point, its ok i could just sign up later, implying the 14 days period is just their preferred period but not actually a hard requirement.

Anyone know if this is correct? Basically i just want to make sure that if I still dont have the doc by the 14 days point, that I won’t be marked down somewhere as having been late with something or another.
