Often seen in grocery stores near the entranceway. Does anyone know the story with this “song” which plays on continuous loop and sounds like circus music?
I can whistle along with it and annoy my Japanese family.
I love that song
I don’t understand how employees can stand this shit during their whole shift
I LOVE THIS SONG.
and it’s variations.
There’s the banana one, but also a Sakana one.
That’s why I’m always listening to music when I shop at donki
If you think that’s annoying, visit the crappy music sub sometime
It’s Yobikomi-kun! My husband and I love this song and we sing it to each other all the time.
Nothing will defeat the world champ at shitty background muzak: Megadonki
Don’t be mean to Yobikomi-kun!!!
Absolute jam.

used to work in a supermarket as a part timer many years ago. i was there before the store opened for customers and would hear this torture for 4 hours on repeat when i pack the oranges in plastic bags. 😭😭😭
It hits different after 1 hour of endless repeats 😂
> Yobikomi -kun is a memory-type voice POP (voice pop-up, recording and playback device) sold by Gunma Electric , and is a registered trademark of the company (Registration No. 4423682 [ 1 ] ). It was developed in 2000 as a replacement for the cassette tape type that had been used for automatically playing product information to promote sales in individual sales corners such as the prepared food section of supermarkets, because the cassette tape type was not durable enough . [ 2 ] As of 2018 , 40,000 units had been shipped.
I like this melody. Mostly because it makes my daughter happy while she jumps up and down excitedly about the ‘Chikawa music’.

lol I actually like it everytime I am walking in Ito.
The store i go to now doesnt have this so i kind of miss it.

I bought a small version that reproduces the music and dances around.
Aww, made me nostalgic.
Excuse you!!!

[This version](https://youtu.be/uSwM0qIx6rE) is my favorite
I’ve heard that the song was intended to sound “cheap.”
So people associate this music with the impression that the goods are cheap.

Classic hit
