Whats a “unknown story” from Kyoto I’ve never heard about. Educate me please!

What is a piece of Kyoto local history or a local story that is well-known by residents but isn't in the mainstream around the world? I'm looking for urban myths, local lore, folklore and such, for a book I'm writing. Thanks!
