Has anyone successfully reported online defamation/harassment to Japanese police? Need advice.

for context: i am a south asian woman dating a japanese person for over 1.5 years now.

a random south asian man (he’s also an immigrant) started commenting on my posts saying I’m only dating a japanese guy for his passport. stuff like “japanese passport has its price” and “you are chasing japanese guy.” also called me names for no reason? i wasn’t even replying to his comments and this guy is a total stranger. i blocked him and he made another account to comment random shit again.

i have his full identity (name, employer, linkedIn, location etc) and screenshots of everything.

I know this could fall under article 230 (defamation) and 231 (insult) but i’m nervous about actually reporting. has anyone gone through this process? did police take it seriously?

Also wondering if contacting his employer (Interac) is worth it.

any advice appreciated. Feeling pretty overwhelmed rn.
