i come from a city where bug pests aren’t a problem because 75% of the year is a deep freeze where they all die so I’m not very good at this, but trying to stay calm.
last summer in my house in Tokyo I saw 2 large roaches in 2 months. both times I caught them, took them outside, and killed them far away from my house Because I didn’t have spray and read to never squish them inside as they release a pheromone. After those 2 adults I didn’t see anything.
but in the last 24 hours I’ve seen 3 or 4 small tiny (baby?) roaches, all in my main floor toilet room And hand washing room. I looked under my cabinets in my kitchen and Bathroom, and in one empty unused cabinet (kitchen) I found some poop. ran out to buy black caps and spray. now here are my questions
– should I place the black caps around my kitchen in places I haven’t seen them yet?
– should I spray them if I see them, especially in the toilet room, or just wait for them to get the poison? I just saw a tiny one crawling towards the black cap behind my toilet but wasn’t sure what to do
– any other pro tips? Products I should buy besides the caps and spray? my biggest fear since moving to Tokyo has been a bug infestation of some kind and I read small ones means its bad because they’re breeding.
very bad timing because I’m about to leave for a week and I’m terrified of coming home to an infestation
