So I’m thinking of switching to a dependent visa from a work visa for health reasons and wanted to ask if anyone here has done that while juggling multiple jobs.
I’ve got a few part-time jobs right now on top of my full time, so my main question is whether I could switch and still keep working with the permission to work part-time, instead of having to quit everything. I know there’s an hour limit, so I will switch to that. I will be making around 200k on it so I will have my own health insurance etc. How much are most of you who are dependent visa holders making a month?
Can you apply for the dependent visa and the permission to engage in activities outside your status at the same time, so you do not have to stop working in between? I’m trying to avoid a gap where I suddenly have to quit while waiting for approval especially since my pt jobs rely on me a lot.
Also wanted to ask what changes after the switch like did you have to do a lot at City Hall, deal with insurance, pension, taxes, stuff like that?
Would also love to know what kind of jobs you do on a dependent visa and if it’s been manageable money-wise? Is it remote or onsite?
Just trying to figure out what this actually looks like in real life, so would appreciate any experiences and advice as well. Thanks
