From Tsumago to Tokyo: extra day (or two)

Hi everyone! I'll be going for the first time in Japan with my boyfriend in the second-half of September.

We are starting from Kagoshima (3 nights), Hiroshima (2 nights), Kyoto (3 nights), then Magome-Tsumago, sleeping in Tsumago and finally Tokyo (6 nights).

We have one additional night between Tsumago and Tokyo that we haven't made up our minds about yet and insightful tips about it would be very welcome!

We’re also open to spending one less night in Tokyo if the detour calls for it—your take on this (and our whole plan) would be great!
