Hi, my partner and I are planning to move to Japan soon and hopefully settle permanently there. We are wondering about what would be the best option for us visa-wise. We are not in a rush, planning to move within the next.
My partner is Japanese, and we both live outside Japan.
I am a software engineer with a lot of experience in the field, but I know almost nothing about the Japanese language. I am slowly studying to get at least JLPT N5 sometime soon.
Would it be possible to apply for the Spouse sponsorship while we are both outside Japan? Or does my partner need to be in Japan to have proof of income in the country?
Or should I just try to find a company who could give me a work permit and try to work in Japan while waiting for the PR from the spouse sponsorship?
Sorry if I am not clear enough, I am just collecting information to see what would be our next steps.
