I mine all of my words from immersion – Anime, Manga, Youtube, Satori Reader (yes, I'm a beginner still).
As of now, I've studied about 3500 cards, each representing a single word. I also know the meaning of almost 1000 individual kanji (from a separate deck). My vocab reviews are becoming absurd – taking me 1-2 hours to complete. I fluctuate between studying 5 to 8 new words a day.
Doing this every day, on top of having a full-time job and other hobbies, is absolutely killing me. And yet, I believe Anki is the undisputed single best way to get my brain to remember vocabulary at this stage.
My question to people who use SRS – how do you find time to incorporate other methods of study into your routine? Do words at some point become easier to remember? What would you recommend me to change in my approach?
Edit: My retention per day is around 80-85%
Edit 2:Thank you for all the advice. I have reduced daily new cards, optimized FSRS, and set the answer to be auto-revealed if I don't get it within a couple of seconds.
