I am a resident here on a Work Visa. My family and I just went through a nightmare at Hong Kong Airport involving Jetstar Japan.
On May 11, we were supposed to fly back to Tokyo on GK5555. At the airport, we found out the flight didn't exist. Jetstar customer service later admitted it was a "Test Flight" accidentally put on sale.
We (a group of 9+ families, including my 3-yo son) were stranded for 12+ hours. We had to buy new tickets from HK Express at our own expense.
My Question: As a resident, what is the best way to escalate this in Japan? Should I contact the Consumer Affairs Agency (消費者庁) or a specific aviation regulator? Has anyone dealt with Jetstar's legal department before for "system errors"?
