I was thinking about renting a second apartment near my job to eliminate a long commute during the week. So my question for people who have two residences in two different cities is, do you have to pay residential city tax for both places? Normally, city tax is maybe 8% of taxable income, I believe. If you have to pay for both, is there any prorating to split the time between the two cities?
