Currently struggling to plan my honeymoon in Japan. It'll be my 2nd time but my husbands 1st in Japan. Last time, I did Osaka-Kyoto-Tokyo. We don't have as many days so I dont think we'll travel as far as Osaka (I really liked it there). I stayed in Roppongi last before but felt like I explored tokyo the least despite having more days there as it took longer to get around. I want to try a different neighborhood so I booked a hotel in Asakusa. Now I'm having doubts. It seems like it'll be a long train ride to other parts of Tokyo. I considered staying in Shinjuku but wasn't sure if it would be too crazy. I also like ginza but that seems too pricey. Where is the most convient place to stay?
My husband and I are in our 30s and want to do a mixture of cultural, food, nature, and shopping experiences. We want a chance to experience some night lift but aren't trying to be out all night. My husband's bucket list items are going to a fish market, whiskey tasting, anime. Here are the places I'm planning to hit so far. Any itinerary suggestions?
Day 1: arrive at NRT 4:30pm
travel to Asakusa to check in. Dinner near hotel and walk/explore/ try to stay up to adjust to time. Hoppy street before heading back to hotel.
Day 2: Explore Asakua, Kappabashi, Akihabra:
Sensoji Temple, skytree town, Imado shrine, kappabashi street shopping, samurai ninja museum, explore shops/arcades in akihabra
Day 3: Tsujiki Fish market, Tokyo tower, Ginza:
eat at tsukiji fish market in AM + tsukiji honganji temple, ginza shopping
Day 4: Shinkjuku/ harajuku:
meji shrine, takeshita street, golden gai
Day 5: shibuya + omotosando:
Betty Smith selvege denim workshop in Ebisu, shibuya crossing, pokemon center; walk around omotesando, shimbuya sky
Day 6: Hakone (ryokan stay); we're splurging here for a nice ryokan stay so we can just relax.
Day 7: Hakone
Day 8: I wanted to go to Kyoto or Disney Sea during the last few days but seems like it'll be too hot/humid. Might go back to tokyo or take a trip to Kamakura. Open to any suggestions for day 8-10 for nice places to visit in June. I would've like to hit Hokkaido but that's way too far away.
Day 9: tbd
Day 10: travel to NRT for 6pm flight
